At first served under Orochimaru as a spy for Akatsuki, however the real person he was spying on was Arata, so when he defected, so did Arumbo. However, he later had to fake his own death against Rena, in order to send his intel to Anji's Father. He later shows up, revealing his actual strength, which is strong enough that he defeats Anji, Sojiro and Honzo all at the same time. He then, as ordered, places the three of them on another continent in order to force them to become stronger.
